If you want to get into ketosis, or maintain the ketosis status you are already in, you are probably eating less than 20g net carbs per day. Net carbs are calculated by subtracting the fiber grams from the total grams of carbs in a food. This beef pizza, with cauliflower crust, contains less than four net carbs per serving.

When you eat low-carb your body doesn't retain water the same way, so sodium another important electrolytes get flushed out quickly. You need to replenish these or you will feel awful - it can even lead to heart palpitations, and anxiety attacks. This pizza contains enough salt, seasonings and flavor to not only make it taste absolutely delicious but also replenish your electrolytes.

Instructions

  1. 1
To make cauliflower crust, first chop florettes into little pieces, disregarding the stems. Wash and rinse with white vinegar to remove any unclean bits. Cook over high heat with half a cup of water and 1 teaspoon white vinegar for 10 minutes.
  2. 2
Drain, return to pot and cook for two more minutes, stirring
  3. 3
Empty dried, cooled cauliflower into a kitchen towel. Roll into a ball and squeeze out water into a sink. Move cauliflower onto another dry part of the kitchen towel. Squeeze again.
  4. 4
Place cauliflower into mixer, food processor or large bowl with a manual potato masher ready to mash.
  5. 5
Add Philadelphia cream cheese, nutritional yeast, psyllium husk, spices, salt and pepper, and egg.
  6. 6
    Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  7. 7
On a cookie sheet, pizza stone or pizza tray, line with parchment paper. Spread out cauliflower crust mixture in the shape of your choice. Thickness should be half an inch or less. Bake for 10 minutes at 450° F.
  8. 8
After 10 minutes, remove. Flip crust on to a fresh new parchment paper and add toppings. Return to oven and cook for 10 more minutes. For a crisper crust, bake other side of crust for 10 minutes before adding toppings.
  9. 9
    How to make toppings:
  10. 10
Put regular ground beef into a pot on medium to high heat, breaking up meat. Drain fat.
  11. 11
Add Worcestershire sauce, dry Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Cook until meat is browned.
  12. 12
Add chopped fresh spinach and stir.
  13. 13
Cut balls of Bocconcini in half, set aside.
  14. 14
Wash and dry six large fresh basil leaves, set aside.
  15. 15
    To assemble pizza:
  16. 16
Add 1 tablespoon of Maille hot mustard on top of crust. Add beef mixture. Top with basil leaves and cheese.
  17. 17
Bake for 10 minutes in a 450° oven.
